Man shot, injured in road-rage incident

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A man was treated for a gunshot wound after a road-rage incident on Tucson's northwest side on Saturday, Nov. 5.

According to a news release from the Pima County Sheriff's Department, deputies were dispatched to the area of West Ina Road and North Camino de la Tierra to investigate a reported shooting a little after 11:40 p.m.

An adult male was taken to a hospital for treatment of at least one gunshot wound.

Detectives determined that the shooting was related to a road-rage incident between the victim and a two people in a car that fled the scene south on Camino de la Tierra.

The suspect car is a dark-colored newer-model four-door sedan with extensive damage to the rear end.

The victim was driving west on Ina when words were exchanged between the two vehicles about aggressive driving by the suspect car. One of the suspects shot in the direction of the victim's vehicle, striking the victim at least once. The victim followed the suspect car into the left-turn lane at Ina and Camino de la Tierra and rear-ended the suspect car, which then fled south.
