FORT HUACHUCA, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Don't worry if you see smoke coming from Ft. Huachuca on Wednesday, Nov. 30, as crews will begin burning slash piles near the Leadership Reaction Course on the corner of Garden Canyon Road across from Range 13.
According to a Ft. Huachuca release these burns include individual piles and then spreading out the ash so it cools overnight. Ideal weather conditions mean the burns are taking place now, when there will be less chance of causing a bigger fire.
The burns will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, with lighting the fires concluding by noon. Ft. Huachuca officials have said the burning of slash piles will take place all winter long, when the weather permits.
