Reid Park Zoo pioneers cutting edge Jaguar medicine

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - First a new jaguar may have been spotted in the mountains south of Tucson, and now Reid Park Zoo has come up with this new medical therapy.

Dr. Alexis Moreno and the animal care staff at Reid Park Zoo have successfully completed three blood transfusions for Nikita, one of two beloved elderly jaguars at the zoo.

Here's a video of Dr. Alexis explaining the procedures, and how a jaguar up in Bearizona is helping with this first of its kind medical therapy:
