U.S. flag seen flying upside down at local library

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A U.S. flag seen flying in front of a public library in Tucson is causing quite a stir on social media.

It happened at the Eckstrom-Columbus Library located at 4350 E. 22nd Street. A picture of the flag was posted on conservative talk show host James T. Harris' Facebook page and it upset a lot of people, some wondering if the library was trying to make a political statement.

That's not the case at all according to Mary Sanchez, the managing librarian at the branch. She says, "it was a complete error on our part. It was unintentional. A Marine notified our staff and helped put it upright. It was totally unintentional. We just didn't catch it until the Marine notified us." Sanchez has apologized and says a member of the staff made an honest mistake.

Sanchez reiterated there was no political statement or motive trying to be made. It was just a mistake and corrected as soon as it was brought to their attention.
