TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Just in time for league and tournament play, Mike Jacob Sportspark is back open and will remain so until June 30, according to a release from the Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation.
Architects and engineers are working on an in-depth "condition analysis, including infrastructure" of the park at 6901 North Casa Grande Highway. This is the base that renovations and construction plans will be built around. According to Pima Co. NRPR the park will remain open during the analysis.
This will change in the future as construction plans move forward, the park may be either partially or completely closed for construction crews. More information about the construction will be available later this spring and every effort to accommodate leagues and tournaments will be made during this time.
A $1 million capital improvements was voted on and passed during a Dec. 13, 2016 meeting, for Mike Jacob Sportspark. Funding is provided by the Arizona Department of Transportation's right-of-way acquisition as part of the I-10/Ina Road construction.
