Dog dies, two people displaced in house fire

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A couple lost their home and their dog after they returned from an errand Tuesday night to find their house full of smoke.

The couple, who are in their 60s, immediately called 911 and waited outside for help, according to Capt. Andrew Skaggs of the Tucson Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the home near 3700 E 27th Street, and discovered a small fire in the front room.

They quickly put it out, then made their way inside where they found the couple's dog.

No one else was hurt.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
