TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - An anonymous call about suspicious activity near Naco, AZ led to the arrest of one illegal alien and a seizure of almost 80 pounds of marijuana,
according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
CBP said the Brian A. Terry Border Patrol Station received the call Wednesday, March 22. Agents at the station said the caller reported an individual seen picking up a bundle of suspected narcotics and running in an abandoned trailer.
"When agents arrived at the location to investigate, they found one Mexican national illegally present in the United States and two bundles of marijuana," said CBP in a recent press release.
CBP said the case is being processed in accordance with Tucson Sector guidelines.
"Often times, Border Patrol agents rely on the community for help," said CBP. "The anonymous caller in this case helped prevent almost 80 pounds of marijuana from reaching the community."
