Reward for info on death of Tucson man goes up to $2,500

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The reward for information on the death of a Tucson man who was beaten to death outside of a convenience store in 2011 has gone up from $1,000 to $2,500, according to the local advocacy and support group Homicide Survivors, Inc.

Robert Pena, 53, was assaulted at the Circle K convenience store near Valencia and South Sixth in April 2011. He later died at the hospital due to his injuries.

According to police, within weeks, two potential suspects were brought in, but eventually released due to a lack of evidence.

The case remains open.

Pena's family isn't giving up hope. Friends and family plan on posting up new flyers near Valencia and South Sixth on Saturday, April 22 at
Mission Manor Park in an effort to raise awareness about their loved one's case.

This comes one day after the 6th anniversary of Pena's death.
