TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Police confirmed Monday, April 24, that one person died in a shooting on Sunday night, April 23, in which two others were injured.
Police say the shooting is gang related.
According to police, 28-year-old Angel Valenzuela was among three people taken to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead before arrival.
Another man and a teen boy were injured in the shooting. The adult has non-life-threatening injuries and the boy has serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
Police say the three were sitting in their car in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 5180 E. 22nd Street, waiting for a friend. A man approached them and got into an argument with them. He fired multiple rounds from a handgun into the car, striking all three victims.
The suspect was last seen fleeing in a dark colored sedan.

Dugan confirmed Monday morning that one person died.
Dugan said while no one was in custody as of 11:30 p.m., they are searching for the suspect.
The shooting appears to be gang-related and was not a random incident, Dugan said.
Originally, police reported that one of the victims sustained life-threatening injures, one was in critical condition and the third suffered serious injures but is expected to survive.
Dugan said the victims were approached by the suspect while in the parking lot and the shooting happened after an confrontation. The suspect left the scene in a dark color sedan, Dugan said.
