TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Crews with Northwest Fire District responded to several 911 calls about smoke and flames coming from a home in the 3300 block of West Bright Terrace.
According to a NWFD release, crews arrived on scene at 3:10 p.m. to find a car and carport on fire. It took crews 17 minutes to put the fire out.
A natural gas leak was discovered at the connection point to the house, near the carport but NWFD is not sure if the leak happened before the fire or because of the fire. Southwest Gas crews were able to secure the leak at 4:23 p.m. according to the NWFD release.
Fire investigators are at the scene and are working on the cause of the fire. There is no cost for damage on the house, though it was deemed not safe to live in.
Three residents and their dog were home at the time of the fire and were able to get out safely. They are receiving assistance with temporary housing while their home is assessed.
