TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Police need your help finding whoever was involved in a deadly crash on the south side of Tucson early Saturday morning.
An alert from Tucson Police Department just before 5:30 a.m. stated the intersection of South Park Avenue and East Drexel Road would be shut down for several hours while police investigated.
A tweet from Sgt. Pete Dugan with TPD about an hour after that confirmed the crash was fatal. He later said two people from the same vehicle died and that whoever was in the other vehicle left the scene.
An update from the department just before 6:00 p.m. identified the deceased as 62-year-old Joanne Berg and 62-year-old David Lowell Berg. The two were in a white 2003 Chevrolet Malibu.
The other car, which was unoccupied when officers arrived, is described as a black, 2008 Volkswagen Jetta with four doors and black rims. It is believed that a driver and a passenger were in the Jetta, according to the release from TPD.
