American Airlines cancels 50 Sky Harbor regional flights due to heat

PHOENIX (Tucson News Now) - American Airlines has canceled approximately 50 regional flights to and from Sky Harbor scheduled for Tuesday, June 20, because of extreme heat.
Regional flights scheduled between 3 and 6 p.m. operated by Mesa Airlines and SkyWest Airlines have been canceled.
American Airlines said the maximum operating temperature for each aircraft type is based on manufacturer data.
- Airbus: 127 degrees
- Boeing: 126 degrees
- Bombardier CRJ regional aircraft: 118 degrees
The airline did not list specific flight numbers in the release.
The airline said it's offering flexibility to change travel plans without a fee.
