TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The temperature in Tucson reached 116 degrees on Tuesday, June 20, marking the hottest day for the Old Pueblo in 23 years and just missing the all-time high.

The National Weather Service confirmed the temperature measured at the Tucson International Airport hit 116 degrees Tuesday afternoon.

We matched the 116 we hit in Tucson on June 24, 1994, a time when the No. 1 song in America was "I Swear" by All-4-One.

The hottest day every for Tucson was 117 on June 26, 1990.
