UPDATE: Toddler dies after being found in pool on Thursday

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The 2-year-old victim who was found in a pool on Thursday, July 20, on Tucson's northwest side succumbed to his conditions and died Saturday night, July 22, according to Northwest Fire District Capt. Brian Keeley.

Northwest Fire responded to a call at 6:33 p.m. on Thursday about a near drowning in the 4300 block of W. Rae Circle, near West Ina and North Oldfather roads.

Crews arrived to find the boy in cardiac arrest with CPR being performed by one of his parents. The toddler was taken to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

According to a news release, the toddler had been seen by his parents less than five minutes before he was found floating in an in-ground pool. There is no barrier around the pool and it is believed that he got out of the house through a dog door.
