TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Police detained a man who barricaded himself in a residence in midtown Tucson on Friday, Sept. 22.

According to Sgt. Pete Dugan of the Tucson Police Department, the standoff ended when the man and a woman came out of the residence at an apartment complex near North Balboa Avenue and West Delano Street, near North Oracle and West Fort Lowell roads.

Details about any possible charges and the condition of the woman were not immediately available.

Dugan said the case is being investigated as a domestic violence-aggravated assault.

Police responded to a report of domestic violence at the complex on Friday morning. The man refused to come out and there was mention of a possible gun, Dugan said. Police dispatched the SWAT team to try to get him out peacefully.
