TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Tucson Police Department responded to the 700 block of East Pastime Road, on First Avenue between Roger and Prince roads at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, after receiving multiple calls of shots fired in the area.

When TPD arrived at the scene they discovered an adult male, identified as 23-year-old Jacob Edward Luna, with obvious signs of gunshot trauma, inside a parked car. Officers rendered aid until Tucson Fire Department crews arrived. Luna was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The TPD Gang Unit took over the investigation, due to possible gang affiliations the victim had. According to TPD, although the Gang Unit is investigating, it is uncertain whether the shooting itself was gang related. Detectives spoke with witnesses and collected evidence at the scene, but have no suspects in custody.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 911 or if they wish to remain anonymous and submit a tip they can do so by calling 88-CRIME or going online to www.88CRIME.org.
