TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A pedestrian was killed Friday, Jan. 26, after being struck by a vehicle in Tucson.

Authorities said David Nash, 59, died from blunt force trauma after being struck by a motor vehicle in the 5500 block of North Oracle Road.

Arizona DPS spokesman Kameron Lee said Nash was hit by a black Dodge sedan while walking across the southbound lanes.

"It is unclear why [Nash] was crossing the road in that area", Lee said in an email. "It is important to note, it is a very dark area of the highway."

The Northwest Fire District said the driver of the Dodge remained on scene and was evaluated by paramedics.
