TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A Tucson man, who had been upset with his employer has been convicted of attempted murder, according to the Pima County Attorney's Office.

Ruben Duran Munoz was convicted last week of one count of attempted first-degree murder, one count of Attempted Manslaughter, two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, one count of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Physical Injury, and one count of Burglary in the First Degree.

According to the PCAO, Munoz had been upset with his former employer, John Kai. It was during a meeting with Kai and office manager Sally Velazquez that Munoz got angry and stated he was going to kill them both.  Munoz pulled out a gun and shoved Velazquez against a partition.  While she fell to the floor, unable to get up, Munoz shot Kai in the chest.

Munoz then went through the office searching for other employees and when unable to find any he returned and shot Kai a second time in the head, according to the PCAO news release.

The first bullet went through Kai's chest and arm, while the second bullet resulted in permanent injury to the roof of his mouth and the loss of an eye.

Munoz is scheduled to be sentenced on March 26.
