TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Pima County Summer Youth Employment Program has extended the deadline to submit an application.
Now, applicants have until March 16 to turn in an application.
Daphanie Conner, the program manager, said the number of applications is down compared with last year.
The county is hoping to fill at least 1,100 positions. These jobs are open to young people aged 14 to 21. More information can be found HERE.
The program provides an opportunity to work between 20 to 40 hours a week at $10.50 an hour.
Conner said this part-time summer job could turn into something more. She was once a summer youth intern and now leads the program.
"I learned all my beginning work experience skills here, so it can definitely take you a long way if you stick with it and come in and take advantage of the opportunities that we have to offer here," she said.
APPLY HERE or pick up an application form from Pima County Youth One Stop located at 320 N. Commerce Park Loop, a local high school, community center or library. Applicants may also call 724-9639 for more information.
