DOUGLAS, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Douglas Police Department say a domestic violence call led to an officer-involved shooting on Friday, March 23.
The suspect in the officer involved shooting, was identified Friday night as Robert Vega. According to DPD he has died from his wounds.
According to police, officers responding to a home in the 900 block of 16th Street found the alleged victim of the domestic violence doused in gasoline and Vega holding "an incendiary device."
Police say that is when the officer opened fire, hitting the suspect.
That officer is now on paid leave, which is normal during a shooting investigation.
