TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Tucson residents have three opportunities to learn about proposed increases in Tucson Water rates and fees. Information about the public meetings is available in the following release:


Tucson Water will be hosting public meetings to share information on proposed rates and fees increases for Fiscal Year 2019 through Fiscal Year 2022.

Tucson Water is proposing water rates and fee changes for FY2019-2022, which would take effect on July 2, 2018, if approved by the Mayor and City Council. Tucson Water staff will present the Utility's financial planning and rate-setting process, including a review of its ratemaking objectives, analysis of its five-year financial plan and revenue requirements, costs for maintaining and delivering reliable and safe water service, current and future water resource and infrastructure needs, promoting water conservation throughout the community, and providing utility bill assistance for limited-income customers.

The meetings are scheduled as follows. A short presentation will begin each meeting.

Thursday, March 29
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
El Pueblo Activity Center, 101 W. Irvington Road

Thursday, April 5
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Miller-Golf Links Library, 9640 E. Golf Links Road

Tuesday, April 10
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Tucson Parks and Recreation Building, Mesquite Room, 900 S. Randolph Way

A public hearing is scheduled at the May 22 meeting of Tucson's Mayor and Council. Approval of the proposed rates and fees will fully fund the Utility's operating and capital requirements through FY 2022.
