UPDATE: Driver injured in I-10 crash near Orange Grove Road




TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A crash on I-10 near Orange Grove Road left at least one person injured and blocked traffic lines in both directions on Monday, April 9.
The crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. Officials said all eastbound lanes were opened shortly before 12:30 p.m. All westbound lanes were reopened by 6 p.m.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a tractor-trailer driver lost control of a truck, which ended up on its side and spilled its load across the entire highway. The truck was carrying non-hazardous medical waste, according to a preliminary statement from the DPS.
The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The nature of the driver's injuries was not reported.
Traffic backups extended almost to Twin Peaks Road on the eastbound lanes and to Ruthrauff Road on the westbound lanes.
According to a tweet from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash involved a commercial vehicle, which rolled over.
