San Jose, CA - Lane Pederson's goal with 1:15 left to play in regulation, put the Roadrunners ahead for good in Tucson's first ever playoff game. Dylan Strome's empty-net goal solidified the 4-2 win.
Dakota Mermis had the honor of becoming the first Roadrunner to score a playoff goal in franchise history. Mermis scored with 8:56 left in the first period. San Jose tied it in the second, by Ryan MacInnis scored 15 seconds later.
The Barracuda tied it again in the third before Pederson's game-winner.
Tucson and San Jose meet in Game 2 Saturday. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
