TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Authorities are looking for a suspect in a shooting that happened on Tucson's south side Monday afternoon.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s with dark skin and a muscular build, slicked back black hair, wearing sunglasses and a short-sleeved shirt. According to Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman with the TPD, the suspect also had a small silver-colored semi-automatic hand gun.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a 2000 to 2005 maroon Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee that is lifted, with silver rims, dark tint and a large sticker on the back window of a tachometer/speedometer. It was last seen westbound on Ajo Way, heading over the I-19 overpass.

In the second vehicle, were a father and adult son. According to Sgt. Dugan the father, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was shot in the head and is currently in critical condition.

According to TPD the driver of the second car pulled out a gun and fired it at the jeep while it was driving away. There is no word on whether those shots hit the suspect or not.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

Ajo Way between 12th and 16th Avenues was closed while officers investigated the incident, and reopened a short time later.
