TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The U.S. Army recognized the heroism of a Tucson man's service during the Vietnam War more than 50 years after his actions turned the outcome of a battle.

Frank Crary received the Distinguished Service Cross from Maj. Gen. Robert P. Wailters Jr, commander of U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and Forth Huachcua, on Tuesday, May 22.

It is the second highest military honor in the U.S. Army.

The Distinguished Service Cross is awarded for extreme gallantry and risk of life in actual combat with an armed enemy force.
