PIMA COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The same group that reported a disturbing camp on Tucson's southwest side is now calling for a federal investigation into what they discovered.

Police in Tucson responded to the camp south of Valencia Road near Interstate 19. Officers photographed the scene, took notes and, for now, have determined it appears to be an abandoned homeless camp.

A woman who claims to have lived near the camp for roughly five years was surprised to see the conditions so poor.

A former Navy SEAL and Tucson firefighter, who toured the camp, called in "creepy" and "inhumane".

The people who initially discovered it said they plan on dismantling the camp, cataloging any items they find and turning it over to Homeland Security.
