TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Police have identified the Tucson woman killed in a bicycle-car collision on Tuesday, June 12.
According to police, 34-year-old Katie A. Tucker was struck shortly before 5:30 p.m. while riding a bike in the area of East Fort Lowell Road and North Castro Avenue. She was taken to Banner University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Detectives with the Tucson Police Department say Tucker was headed west on Fort Lowell in the curb lane. Police say witnesses reported that Tucker made an abrupt left turn in front of a westbound car and was struck. Police say neither speed nor impairments appear to be factors in this collision. Tucker was not wearing a helmet, police said.
The driver, who remained on scene, was not cited.
