TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Multiple Tucson Fire Department units responded to a bus stop near the Lowe's Home Improvement store on Oracle and Limberlost, after bees stung several people on Wednesday afternoon, June 20.

A puppy was stung over 200 times but is currently stable after being taken to an emergency veterinarian and given oxygen by firefighters. The owner of the mixed breed dog was also stung while attempting to protect his pet.

Firefighters discovered a hive of Africanized honey bees hidden under a water meter near the bus stop after treating the victims.

The bees were "foamed" by firefighters, suffocating the entire hive.

The dog was in critical condition but both he and the owner are expected to be OK, according to TFD.
