TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A Tucson man shot his wife and stepson before turning the gun on himself Thursday afternoon, city police said.

Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said the shooting happened at a home in the 10400 block of Windstorm Drive, which is near Houghton and Speedway.

According to the TPD, Donald Stanley shot two people before taking his own life.

Stanley's 15-year-old stepson Christian Garcia-Sanchez died at the scene. Stanley's wife, who has not been identified, survived and is at a local hospital.

The incident began around 1 p.m. when Stanley's 10-year-old son ran to a neighbor's house and said his father shot his mom and brother.

The TPD responded and hostage negotiators tried to contact anyone inside the home.

A robot was sent inside and found Stanley dead and his wife injured.

SWAT then went inside and began treating Stanley's wife, who was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not life threatening.

Officers then found Christian dead inside a bedroom.

Stanley's 10-year-old son is staying with extended family, according to the TPD.
