TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The FC Tucson Women beat the San Diego Parceiro Ladies 2-1 on the road Sunday to claim their first division title in five years.
Allison Raniere (Sahuaro '15) scored the game-winning goal in the 92nd minute just as time was about to expire. It was her second goal of the weekend as she also had FCTW's lone tally in a 1-1 draw Saturday night against the San Diego SeaLions.
The winning result gave FC Tucson (5-2-1, 16 points) the PacSouth championship, first division title since 2013 when they won the Big Sky North Division as TSAFC (Tucson Soccer Academy).
2013 was the side's first season competing in the Women's Premier Soccer League.
Treena Ferguson scored as well for FCTW as the ladies will now moving on to post-season play in Seattle in July.
