Tucson woman, grandson escape fire unharmed

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Two people were able to escape a fire that destroyed their Tucson home early Monday morning, June 25.

According to the Tucson Fire Department, the fire happened just after midnight near the 3400 block of South Camino Seco.

Recently-installed smoke detectors alerted the sleeping residents to danger and they evacuated the mobile home as the woman called 911.

Twenty-seven firefighters took 18 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The home is a total loss, but both residents were unharmed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
