TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Arizona Game and Fish Department is offering up to $1,500 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a south-side poaching case.

Game and Fish said a javelina was found shot June 17 in the 490 block of West Hammerhead Way, which is near the intersection of Drexel and 12th Avenue.

"Poachers are criminals. They are thieves who steal wildlife from Arizona citizens," said Raul Vega, regional supervisor of Game and Fish in Tucson. "This appears to be a crime of opportunity, or a case of trying to get rid of a nuisance. Either way, it's illegal."

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-352-0700. The case number is OGT#18-002050.
