Hiker, dog being rescued from Madera Canyon

PIMA COUNTY, AZ ( Tucson News Now) - A hiker and his dog were rescued from Madera Canyon Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

LT Pratt, spokesperson for the Green Valley Fire Department, said the man took his 80-pound bulldog Delilah on a hike.

Delilah got dehydrated so the man hiked down to the parking lot to get help, according to Pratt.

The hiker and a rescue crew went back up the trail to find Delilah.

Pratt said the crew spent more than an hour looking for her.

Delilah appears to be doing OK, as is the hiker.

As of 4:20 p.m., it was 105 degrees in southern Arizona.
