TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Transportation officials said a streetcar derailment in Tucson over the weekend was caused by human error.

Around 6 p.m. Sunday, July 1 , the streetcar jumped the rail Fourth Avenue, near 8th Street.

According to a report, the streetcar was traveling faster than it should've been when it approached a switch, which is part of the track that helps gets the cars to the railyard.

Tucson DOT said the operator thought the track at the turnout was still set to go straight.
