TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Tucson police are investigating a homicide in midtown near Speedway and Wilmot.

According to Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman with TPD a call came in around 5 p.m. from a man reporting a shooting in the 1000 block of North Alamo.

Officers responded to the scene and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment.

The man who called 911 said he had been arguing with the victim when he shot him, according to TPD. He is currently in police custody.

"Just an unfortunate situation that didn't need to happen between two individuals that got into an argument and settled it this way, it's just unfortunate,"  said Sgt. Dugan.

Dugan said it appears there might have been some alcohol use, but that will be part of the investigation.

If anybody heard anything or saw anything, since it was at an apartment complex, to please call 911 or 88-CRIME where you can remain anonymous.

"Often times that smallest piece of information can sometimes be rather large in conjunction with what we already have," said Sgt. Paul Dugan.
