GOODYEAR, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Owner of the Arizona Cardinals, Michael Bidwill, is in the hot seat after voicing support for Trump's SCOTUS nominee on the team's official Twitter account.

The statement issued by the team Monday night, acknowledges that Bidwill and Judge Brett Kavanaugh attended the same high school together and that, "Bidwill and his fellow Georgetown Prep alumni are reaching out to those deciding on Kavanaugh's candidacy, sending a letter vouching for his character."

The controversy comes after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that,"...getting into politics is not something we do" after players kneeled for the anthem last season.

Whether an apology or fine is issued by the league, the tweet is sure to be at the forefront of the NFL's politics debate next season.
