THREE POINTS, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department has identified the individuals involved in a deputy-involved shooting southwest of Tucson on Monday, July 16.

According to a PCSD news release, 37-year-old David De La Cruz was taken to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. The deputy involved was identified as Christopher Conniff. He has been a deputy for 18 years.

The incident happened at about 7 p.m. in the 14800 block of West Guy Street, near Three Points, where deputies were responding to an "unwanted person" call.

No deputies were injured in the incident.

The news release said the shooting happened while deputies tried to take him into custody for outstanding warrants.
