ORO VALLEY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Oro Valley Police Department will soon have a new substation, which will be located at 500 West Magee.
According to OVPD the current building is 5,000 square feet and once construction is complete it will be a two-story, 20,000 square foot property.
The building will be home to evidence personnel, evidence from crimes, K9 unit and training unit.
The plan is to start construction this week, with the building complete by this time next year.
OVPD has been using the current building as a substation since 2012 and has maxed out as its headquarters and they need to space to expand.
