TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Believe it or not, it can still get a little warm at an ice cream factory. But not as hot as it is outside with Tucson's record breaking heat.

The Screamery Commissary on the east side near 22nd Street and Pantano can get a little warm. They have a pasteurizing machine and two ovens in the factory.

All machines they use to make 150 gallons of ice cream a day.

It's a five-step process to get the ice cream to their local stores and part of that process is putting the big gallon buckets in the storage freezer, which can reach minus 20 degrees.

Sometimes the workers and even owners Ken and Lind Sarnoski will walk to the back and step in the freezer to cool off for just an instant. After a few minutes in there, it's back to work.
