PIMA COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Four southern Arizona homes were raided and three people were arrested early Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Authorities said the raids were connected to numerous thefts that happened over the last 18 months. Of the 50-60 crimes investigators believe to be associated with this group, some are outside the state of Arizona, according to Captain Justin Lane with Tucson Police Department
He said the criminal enterprise was not a typical burglary case, because the suspects involved focused on businesses and commercial properties in search of equipment, vehicles and metals. No homes were targeted, according to Lane.
The raids were conducted by the Pima County Sheriff's Department and Tucson Police Department.
According to a Sgt. Manoleas with PCSD, a man was pulled over this morning in a stolen vehicle and arrested.
He added that the unidentified suspect has "been under surveillance for stolen property and other things."
The suspect was known to frequent homes in Vail, Tucson and Marana, according to investigators.
One of the homes is located in the 5100 block of West Calle Appaloosa. Another is near the intersection of Rincon Ranch Road and Tewa Trail.
Several neighbors living near that location stated never having a problem with anyone there.
The other two locations have not been disclosed.
Sgt. Pete Dugan, a spokesman for TPD, said the names of three people arrested will likely be released Wednesday. He said detectives were busy with interviews and paperwork.
