Habitat Tucson asking for help to identify theft suspect

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Habitat for Humanity Tucson is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who has reportedly stolen items from its home-build construction sites.

According to a recent news release from Habitat, surveillance footage of the suspect was released on Tuesday at a construction site at Barrio Nopal at Elvira and Mission Road.

The suspect has broken into homes four times since April and caused thousands of dollars in damage to the homes as well as the theft of items, according to the Habitat news release. Officials with Habitat Tucson estimate the losses to the program at over $4,000.

Habitat for Humanity helps low-income individuals and families get into homes and repairs neighborhoods.  Part of the way they are able to do that is with donated materials and volunteer labor.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect seen on the video, or the other person in the video is asked to contact Habitat for Humanity Tucson 520-326-1217 info@habitattucson.org or the Tucson Police Department.
