ORO VALLEY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - An man was airlifted and transported to a nearby hospital Monday morning after becoming injured while hiking in Oro Valley.

The 51-year-old man, an alleged experienced hiker, fell and injured himself while hiking the Linda Vista Trail in Oro Valley on Sunday.

Without a cell phone, the hiker remained on the trail overnight until his work called police when he did not show up Monday morning.

He was later found by another hiker and treated by Golder Ranch Fire and Oro Valley Police Department.

The man was rescued around 11 a.m Monday and is in stable condition, according to a Golder Ranch spokesperson.
