TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - An airplane, flying from Tucson to Van Nuys, California, had to make an emergency landing Wednesday on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation northwest of Tucson.

According to FAA Public Affairs Manager Ian Gregor, the Piper PA28 had two people on board and it landed safely on the reservation along Route 15 between Arizona City and Hwy 86.

The type of aircraft is a 4-seater single engine and is registered to a man who lives in Van Nuys according to FAA records.

Gregor says engine failure led to the forced emergency landing. No one was hurt.
