A man accused of killing his four-year-old daughter and leaving her remains in a storage locker faces more charges. Christopher Payne is now charged with the death of her five-year-old brother.
On Monday, a Pima County grand jury indicted Payne on two counts of first-degree murder as well as child abuse charges. The indictment says Payne allowed his children to starve to death.
One murder count is for his daughter, four-year-old Ariana. Her body was discovered in a midtown storage locker last month. The indictment also says her father caused or permitted Ariana's bones to be broken.
The second count is for Payne's son, five-year-old Tyler. His body has not been found, but police believe he was the victim of foul play.
Police searched the Los Reales landfill for clues in the case but didn't find anything.
Payne's girlfriend is also facing charges in the case. 22-year-old Reina Gonzales was arrested Thursday. She's charged with child abuse, but police aren't giving specifics.
