PHOENIX (KOLD) - The state clemency board is recommending that Gov. Jan Brewer delay the scheduled execution of Jeffrey Landrigan.
The board voted-3-1 Friday to recommend that Brewer give Landrigan a reprieve until courts resolve litigation over DNA evidence in his case.
Landrigan is scheduled for execution Tuesday in the 1989 strangulation and stabbing death of Chester Dyer.
Prosecutors say the killing was motivated by robbery.
The board rejected a member's motion for a commutation recommendation on a 2-2 vote.
